Valmiki Nagar : The Valmiki Tiger Reserve comprises of the Valmiki National Park and the Valmiki Wild Sanctuary with total area of the reserve is 880 sq km. The national park gets its name from Valmiki Nagar, a small town located within the forest area. Due to dense forest cover in the region, the only entrance to the tiger reserve is through the town of Valmiki Nagar. The tiger reserve borders the well known forest named Chitwan National Park across the border in Nepal.

 

Itinerary

 

Day 1| Patna – Vaishali – Kesharia – Bettiah

Our arrival at Patna Airport/ Railway Station, meet and greet by Visit Bihar tour representative. He will assist you in getting transferred to your car for road drive to Bettiah. En-route visit Abhishek Puskarini, Lichhavi Stupa, Archaeological Museum, Ashokan Pillar, King Vishala’s Garh in Vaishali. Later drive to Kesheria Stupa, the tallest and the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world. On way to Bettiah one can see the Ashokan Pillar at Lauriya Nandangarh. Evening reach Bettiah, check in to your pre booked hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2| Bettiah – Valmiki Nagar

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Valmiki Nagar, On arrival check in to your pre booked hotel. After freshen up go for a visit of ancient temple called Valmiki Ashram, Jatashankar Temple and Nardevi Temple. Evening enjoy the magnificent view of River Gandak and Someshwar Hills which is just behind your resort in Valmiki Nagar. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3| Valmiki Nagar

Today the day is plan for Morning and Evening Jeep Safari in jungle, first in morning and second in evening. While roaming in the national park, visitors will come across enormous collection of flora and fauna which draws the attention of many people. There is a healthy diversity of animals that are an icon of Bihar wildlife. The species of animals that dwell in the park includes the wild dogs, hog deer, jungle cats, Indian civets, hyenas, leopards, nilgais, sambars, chitals, peafowl, python, leopard, wolf, sloth bear, black buck, Tiger, and other species of deer. Evening back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4| Valmiki Nagar – Bagaha/Bettiah/Gorakhpur/Patna

Today after breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Bagaha/Bettiah/Gorakhpur/Patna. On arrival transfer to Airport or Railway Station for your onwards journey to Home.
