Itinerary
Day 1| Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir
Our arrival at Patna Airport/Railway Station, meet and greet by Visit Bihar tour representative. He will assist you in getting transferred to your car for road drive to Rajgir. En-route visit Ruins of Nalanda University and Nalanda Museum in Nalanda. Later reach Rajgir or Rajagrih. It is located in a verdant valley surrounded by rocky hills which contains natural, religious and archaeological sites. Visit Cyclopean wall, the 40 km long wall encircles ancient Rajgir. Built with massive pieces of stones, it was constructed before Mauryan Era. Also visit Venu Van, Hot Sulpher Spring at the foot of Vaibhav Hill, Ajatashatru’s Fort, Swarna Bhandar etc. Evening back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2| Rajgir (Full day Trekking Program)
Today after breakfast meet our Trekking guide at reception area. He will then take you to the full day trek tour to the hills of Rajgir.
The trek begins from the Hot Sulfer Spring area called – “Suraj Kund”. It leads through a thick forest of magnificent flora and fauna and provides a beautiful view of the Rajgir valley and Surroundings. Reach Jain temple, rest for few minutes, breakfast will serve at the hill. Later start the trek and cross through ancient Hindu temple and the oldest Cyclopean Wall of Rajgir. Later continue the trail on Ratnagiri Hills and reach World Peace Pagoda. Lunch will serve and rest for half an hour. Then visit Griddhakuta hill or Vulture Peak, it said that Lord Buddha spend many years in this place. After visiting Griddhakuta, track starts and it will become slight difficult trail approx 20 meters to reach Ashokan Stupa. Visit the newly excavated Stupa and return back to Shanti Stupa area and follow the ladder which goes to foothill of Griddhakoot. It is long and hard day, but it exciting to enjoy the view of entire valley through Trekking.
Evening back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3| Rajgir – Patna (departure)
Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Patna. On arrival, drop off you at Railway Station or Airport for your onward journey to home.
